As a Museum on the Move we’ve been delighted to install displays in venues across the country, but we’re aware of the need to have a presence online too. We’ve recently launched a new Collections Online, which allows you to discover over 10,000 items spanning the various categories of objects, from Judaica to Photographs, Textiles & Costume to Books and manuscripts.
We plan to keep adding more online over the coming year, so watch this space. However, there are also loads of other ways to discover our collection online. Here’s four other ways to get you started:
1 – SketchFab
If you’ve never explored sketchfab, prepare to go down a rabbit hole. Sketchfab hosts 3D images of items, allowing you to zoom in right up close, move things around 360 degrees, and in some cases even get inside the objects! We’ve been incredibly excited to watch the process of creating 3D versions of our besamin (spice tower) collection. Have a look and see what you think
2. Our Loan map
Although we don’t have our own Museum building at the moment, we are very grateful to the numerous organisations that have agreed to display items from our collection. Additionally, we’re always pleased to lend institutions items to help tell the stories they want to tell.
